Dunholme Road Maintenance Timeline

There have been many enquiries, Facebook comments and the issue has been raised at recent Parish Council in relation to the condition of Dunholme Road. The following is a Timeline in respect of Scothern Parish Council’s actions in relation to resurfacing Dunholme Road

22 May 2016

Serious potholes reported by Cllr John Fotheringham (JF) to Highways Officer (Noel Robinson) at Lincolnshire County Council (LCC).

Over two years

Continued to chase repairs.

15 January 2019

JF email to Highways Officer to request Dunholme Road be resurfaced.

22 January 2019

Reply from Highways Officer indicating that no programme for the works but intention to resurface Dunholme Road/Main Street from the Heath Road junction to a point just past the Bottle and Glass was advised. This would not be carried out until the development on Dunholme Road was fully completed.

11 January 2021

JF emailed Highways Officer to advise that the developer had advised that the development would be completed in six weeks time. JF also advised the Highways Officer that the road had deteriorated badly over a period of two years and requested that the work be programmed in as soon as possible.

14 January 2021

Highways Officer replied indicating that this would be fed back to the Programme Manager LCC so works could be included in future works programme.

8 February 2022

Scothern Parish Council has continued to pursue the works over the last year with LCC through County Councillor Sue Rawlins and County Councillor Richard Davies, LCC Executive Councillor for Highways and Transport. An onsite meeting: Scothern Parish Council Councillors Cathie Nicoll and John Fotheringham, County Councillors Rawlins and Davies was held when the condition of Dunholme Road was highlighted.

Scothern Parish Council has been advised that the resurfacing works are included in the 2022/23 programme of works and will be carried out in the Summer of 2022.

Scothern Parish Council is continuing to pressure LCC for this work to be undertaken as soon as possible.
