PARISH COUNCIL CLIPS

The following is a summary of the Parish Council Meeting held on 14th June 2023.

Present at the meeting were five Parish Councillors, Lincolnshire County Council (LCC) Councillor and Members of the Public.

The Provision of Public Transport in Scothern.

The PC Coaches bus service 43 Market Rasen to Lincoln and return has now commenced pickups and drop offs in Scothern. The timetables and pickup locations are on the PC Coaches website. They are also available on the Parish Council noticeboards, and we aim to keep this as up to date as possible but please note that the timings and locations have been changing over the first few weeks of the service.
The Call Connect shopper service between Scothern and Lincoln and the Call Connect on demand service continue to be available. 

Speed Awareness

The Parish Council is looking for volunteers to join the Speed Awareness Group. The speed awareness scheme is run by a group of volunteers from the village who have been trained on the use of a hand speed gun by Lincolnshire police. There are a number of locations within the village that have been selected and assessed to monitor vehicles speeding. If you are interested in joining the team, please contact the Clerk, Councillor Derek Canton or Councillor Robert Creaser. More information on the Speed Awareness Scheme and details taken from the three stationary speed cameras can be found on the Parish Council website.

Garden Competition 2023

Judging for the best garden competition has commenced and will continue throughout June and July. Scothern Gardens continue to look beautiful and Judges are keen to look for new gardens that maintain their standards throughout the period. The categories are:
•    Small Gardens
•    Medium/Large Gardens
•    Attractive garden that is favourable for wildlife.
Prizes will be awarded at the Scothern Flower and Produce show in September.

Financial Matters

a)    The Council received the Internal Audit Report and noted the progress that had been made on previous recommendations.
b)    The Council adopted the 2023/24 Risk Assessment and Register document, the recommendations within the document would be reviewed throughout the year.
c)    The Council discussed and agreed to adopt the Annual Governance and Accountability Return (AGAR) for submission to the External Auditors.

application for removal of existing dwelling and erection of 1no. replacement dwelling – GRANTED 
b.    146509 - Land Adjacent to, Stonefield House, 10 Main Street, Scothern, Lincolnshire,
LN2 2UF - application for 1no. detached dwelling with new vehicular access – not 
146509 – RECONSULTATION Land Adjacent to, Stonefield House, 10 Main Street -  discuss in meeting and Parish Council to submit further comments.
c.    146582 - Land to the rear of, 16, Church Street, Scothern, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, LN2 2UA Planning application for 3no. dwellings with new access driveway and associated parking  and garaging, and replacement of existing garage to the rear of 16 Church Street – APPLICATION WITHDRAWN 

All Planning Applications can be viewed on West Lindsey District Council’s website by use of their application tracker; and comments on individual applications can also be made.

Litter Picking

After the successful participation in the Great British Spring Clean. The next event is planned for the beginning of July 2023. Residents of all ages are requested to support; it was great to have younger villager participation at the last event. More details to follow on website, Noticeboards and Facebook Page.

Council E-mail Addresses

The Council has now made the move over to new e-mail addresses to improve its governance. The Clerks e-mail address will change to clerk@scothern-pc.gov.uk and all Councillors e-mail addresses will change to firstname.lastname@scothern-pc.gov.uk details are available on the Parish Council website and to the noticeboards.
