Parish Council Clips - October 2022

Parish Council Clips

The following is a summary of two Scothern Parish Council meetings held on the 28th September 2022 and 12th October 2022. All seven Councillors were present at both meetings. The Chair welcomed the new Parish Council Clerk, Michelle Vail to her first meeting on the 28th September 2022.

Refurbishment to Scothern War Memorial

There is a need for refurbishment of the Scothern War Memorial and a proposal whilst this is being done, to move the memorial to a safer and more accessible position near the main door of the church. However, before this can be applied for it is necessary to demonstrate resident approval (as the War Memorial belongs to the Parish). To obtain “permission” from the residents of Scothern there will be an opportunity for residents to add their signature to the sheets which are placed in the Church. There is also space for comments to be added.

This information has been shared through Scothern Parish Council Facebook Page and will be on view at the consultation events for the Review of the Scothern Neighbourhood Development Plan. More information in relation to this proposal can be obtained by contacting Cathie Nicoll, Chair to Scothern Parish Council – 07776 240967 or cathrynspc@btinternet.com

Scothern Neighbourhood Plan Review

Questionnaires on the Scothern Neighbourhood Plan Review have now been delivered to all residents. These will be collected on Sunday 23rd October, please ensure they are left in an accessible location. Two consultation events will be held in the Methodist Church on Wednesday 19th October 6.00 p.m. – 8.30 p.m. and Saturday 22 October 10.00 a.m. – 2.00 p.m. Questionnaires can also be dropped in to one of these events.
